About Dr. Tiffany Joel

myheadshot

I am a licensed psychologist and certified school psychologist specializing in comprehensive psychological, neuropsychological and educational evaluations for children and adolescents.

My areas of expertise include ADHD, learning disabilities such as dyslexia, dysgraphia, and dyscalculia, autism spectrum disorder, and a range of emotional and behavioral concerns.

I believe every child has the potential to thrive when they’re truly understood and given the right support. My work goes beyond testing, it’s about equipping parents with clear, meaningful insight they can use to make informed decisions.

I care deeply about helping families move from confusion to clarity, and I’m passionate about providing the tools they need to support their child’s growth with confidence.

In addition to my private practice, I work as a school psychologist in a large metro-Atlanta public school district, supporting students from Pre-K through 12th grade. This gives me a firsthand understanding of the academic, behavioral, and social demands children face in real-world school settings as well as the systems that shape how support is provided.

Training & Background

I began my professional career in Vancouver, British Columbia, working in the software industry in quality assurance and project management. After the birth of my daughter, I found myself seeking a career that was more family-aligned and human-centered, one that would allow me to make a meaningful impact in the lives of children and families. That decision led me back to my long-standing interest in psychology and child development.

I earned my bachelor’s degree in psychology from Thompson Rivers University in British Columbia, and went on to complete my Doctorate in School Psychology at the University of Colorado Denver. After graduation, I relocated to Atlanta, where I began working as a school psychologist in a nearby public school district.

Today, I continue to serve as a full-time school psychologist, evaluating students across preschool, elementary, and high school settings. My work includes early childhood evaluations for students with suspected developmental delays, including those transitioning from Babies Can’t Wait to school-based services, as well as comprehensive assessments for students in both general and special education. I’ve also supported middle school populations, giving me a broad perspective on how learning, behavior, and emotional needs evolve over time.

In 2020, I founded a private practice specializing in virtual psychological assessment. Over the past five years, I’ve worked with school-aged children and teens, particularly those enrolled in online or hybrid learning environments, providing tailored evaluations that meet the unique needs of students outside of traditional settings.

To further strengthen the neuropsychological foundation of my work, I completed the School Neuropsychology Post-Graduate Credential through the American Board of School Neuropsychology (ABSNP). This advanced training allows me to integrate brain-based frameworks into my evaluations, offering deeper insight into attention, memory, executive functioning, language, and learning profiles — and delivering more precise, actionable recommendations for school and home.

Core Values

Clarity Over Jargon

I believe that evaluation results should be clear, not confusing. I translate complex data into plain language that families and schools can understand — with the goal of giving you meaningful, actionable information you can actually use.

Parent Partnership

You know your child best. My role is to listen closely, respect your insight, and work alongside you to guide the evaluation process so you feel informed, supported, and empowered every step of the way.

Practical Outcomes

Every evaluation results in a clear, personalized report with concrete recommendations you can put into action — at school, at home, and in everyday routines.
